Jeff Ryder, March 2011

Jeff Ryder work with Fay in November 2011. Jeff rebuilt his used Milwaukee air planishing hammer unit. Using expandable laps, they trued up holes that were worn from use, in the heat treated bores of the air unit. Then they turned new piston parts, along with a complete set of 5 top dies, all in S7 tool steel, having them all heat treated.  This gave Jeff a fully rebuilt air unit for his planishing hammer to take home. Jeff helped with various shop sheet metal projects then his wife Desi and daughter Myla flew in towards the end of his stay. Fay had also covered the subject of American furniture design eras from 1640 to 1840 then all took a trip to Boston to view furniture at the Museum of Fine Arts, and dinner in the city.

Jeff Ryder machined parts for a pedestal air planishing hammer using the lathe and milling machine.
He also made shrink dies for his Pullmax. June 2008
